Understanding IFSCA, IFSC and GIFT City

India's International Financial Services Centre provides a framework for globally oriented financial business. These three terms describe the authority, the financial centre and the place where the ecosystem operates.

Regulatory authorityIFSCA

The International Financial Services Centres Authority regulates financial products, services and institutions in India's IFSCs under the IFSCA Act, 2019.

Financial jurisdictionIFSC

Financial districtGIFT City

Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, near Gandhinagar, is home to India's first IFSC and a growing financial-services ecosystem.

The IFSC operates within a Special Economic Zone framework. SEZ authorities address relevant zone-administration matters, while IFSCA oversees regulated financial activity.
